Exe Camping Weekend

Download as iCal file

Friday 18 October 2013, 08:00
To Monday 21 October 2013

Campsite: Exe Valley Caravan Site Bridgetown  (N51.088 W3.539)

Weekend camping trip with paddles on the rivers Barle and Exe. These are grade 1-2 rivers in normal flow conditions with a grade 3 bit that can be portaged  so are ok for those who have some experience on moving water but would like to progress to the next level.  A good opportunity to gain experience from  the club’s more experience white water paddlers. As this event is under the auspices of Maidstone Canoe Club we need to give our help to the organiser, Neil Fuller, to reconnoitre  rivers on Friday 18th October so if you are one of those experienced paddlers and can come down on Thursday 17th or early on Friday morning please let me know nearer the time when I will also post here details of the campsite.

As last year, Bill & Niki will be running 3* training and assessment on this trip for those who are interested - see here for details.

Maidstone Club Members: Please let me know if you would like to go on this trip so that I can fill in the forms for Neil Fuller, Thanks

Non-Club Members: Please download details, booking form and BCU taster form here and send completed forms to Neil Fuller

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
