Canoeing

Maidstone Canoe Club is no stranger to the rich and established paddle discipline practiced the world over, open canoeing. Despite its reputation as a touring discipline, canoes offer a wide range of activities from racing to white water. To foster canoeing at Maidstone Canoe Club we offer a range of experiences in opening canoeing to suit your interest. Whether that be multi-day camping trips to experience  beautiful and remote UK rivers, touring the Medway to practice paddle strokes and manoeuvrability, or taking on white water rivers providing all the excitement and thrill of a kayak.

 

Once you have completed your beginners course you can join regular paddle sessions in an open canoe and to get a feel for the boat and its manoeuvrability. If you want to progress your skills you can work towards an Explorer award in open canoes which will provide the necessary skills to paddle confidently and wo;; open the door to many other canoe disciplines and uses.
