Interclub Paddle Photos

Joss Bay BBQ - Sunday 26th

There will be no come and try session at the club next Sunday as it is our annual club BBQ at Joss Bay. Non-club members are welcome to come but if you intend to paddle on the sea you will need to be competent to wear a spray deck. It will be possible to do your  capsize drill with spray deck at  Joss Bay but if you need a club boat please contact Geoff at [email protected] to see if it can be arranged, first come first served. Details of the Joss Bay BBQ are here.

Private boats are private

It appears that, once again, private boats are being taken without permission of the owner.  This is unacceptable, and anyone found doing it will have their keyfob deactivated.

All Club boats have "Club Boat" written clearly on them.  If they don't have this sticker, they are private and not to be used.

Coaching Group Meeting

There will be another meeting of the coaching group next Wednesday, 22nd August, for all current & aspiring coaches within the Club, to talk about training, ongoing development and all matters coaching within Maidstone Canoe Club.  Please let Bill know, [email protected],  if you are planning to attend.

Helpers needed - Ladies Come & Try Session

Niki is running a ladies-only "Come and Try" session on Saturday 15th September. She really needs some helpers, both male & female, to assist with getting people kitted up, making tea etc., as well as on the water.  There is a morning and afternoon session, and helpers would be appreciated for one or both of them.  See the calendar entry for times.

If you can help with this (or would like to come along and try), please contact Niki directly at [email protected]

July Photo Round-Up

Slightly delayed this month, but finally here!  Obviously the Olympic Torch came down the Medway in July, accompanied by our very own Aaron, Andrea, Leanne, Suzy, Geoff & Gemma.  Several intrepid helpers repainted the hallway in the Club as part of our Work Day in a lovely shade of blue (probably!) - thanks again to Catherine, Geoff O, Keith, Paul N, Mark C, Steve C, Mark H, Jeff S and Tom W.  Steve found a lost turtle; there were touring trips to Burntwick Island and from Hoo to Rochester.

August is shaping up to be a busy month for trips, and there's something for everyone - racing, touring and whitewater of all levels. Take a look at the calendar and get booked on something!
