 We are Maidstone Canoe Club

 We sea kayak.

 We race.

 We are Maidstone Canoe Club.

 We mess about in boats.

 We run rivers.

Club Closed

In light of the latest advice from British Canoeing and the Environment Agency, we will have to abide by their guidance and cease all paddle sport activity until advised otherwise.

I would advise anybody thinking of ignoring this directive to reconsider as doing so would bring the club into disrepute.  I thank you for your cooperation in this matter.  Hopefully the current situation will pass sooner rather than later and we can all go back to enjoying our sport.  The most important thing is to stay safe and look after yourselves and your families and to keep up-to-date with current government advice.

Another post one hopes not to need too often!  Vote for the next one at the AGM.

First Aid Officer: To advise the committee on first aid issues – ensure that the club’s first aid kit is kept stocked with the appropriate items - Treat or advise on incidents occurring at the club or on the water that require first aid.

AGM - Clubhouse Manager

Perhaps DIY is more your thing?  The Clubhouse is looking better than it has for years - and it's mostly down to the Clubhouse Manager.  March 20th, 7pm.

AGM - Welfare Officer

One of the few posts which require some qualifications, the Welfare Officer is one of the most important positions in the Club - seldom needed, but essential.  Free snacks at the AGM!

Welfare Officer: Advise the committee on welfare issues – review current practice – hear complaints and worries from club members and resolve any problems that arise, where this is within their capability. Laisse with Canoe England regarding welfare issues and process member’s applications for DBS (previously CRB). Must have attended Child Protection Course and preferably Time to Listen Course.

AGM - Race Team Manager

Beer & snacks are available at the AGM.  Sometimes there are biscuits at committee meetings.

Racing Team Manager: To motivate the racing team and co-ordinate race entries. Advise the committee on matters relating to marathon and sprint racing and to on the selection of boats and equipment bought for use by the club racers.
