Tryweryn Trip - come and try it! You know you want to really!

As you may know, Paul H is organising the last trip of the year to the river Tryweryn in North Wales for the weekend 19th/20th September. Staying at Tyn Cornel campsite http://www.tyncornel.co.uk/ The campsite is on the banks of the Tryweryn so you can get on or off the river here.

This is a great opportunity for those of you who have started paddling on moving water, to develop your skills on a fabulous section of grade 2/3 water. The Lower Tryweryn starts next to the campsite and flows 6km to the town of Bala. Bala Mill Falls at the end of this section is easily portaged.

If you would like to join us, Bill and I would be very happy to take you on this section on both days. We will work on the skills of breaking in and out, ferry gliding, reading the water and working as a team. There may also be the opportunity to practise rescue skills! I expect it will take a few hours. After this, Bill and I will join the more experienced paddlers, playing on the Upper Tryweryn. There is a footpath along the side of the river so you could watch the other paddlers and maybe be inspired, or perhaps use the time to visit the local area. We usually book a table in a local pub for our evening meal and share our river experiences over dinner and a drink. Some people prepare their own breakfast but you can buy a good cooked breakfast at a local café or at the white water centre. The café at the centre also does hot drinks, cakes and lunch. It is right next to a play wave where kayaks and rafts play, so it can be very entertaining!

If you have any questions, please ask. We usually car share where possible to reduce costs. This is within the abilities of many of you at the club. If you have paddled at the white water courses at Lee Valley or Nene, then you should consider joining us.
