Porters Lock Lowering

The Environment Agency have notified us that the weir will be lowered between these dates for inspection & cleaning.  This may cause small rapids, and might be good for paddlers looking for a little moving water.

The sluices MUST be avoided as they can be dangerous at this time; early egress is mandatory.

Disclaimer: our regular paddle sessions are peer paddles.  Support is generally available from more experienced paddlers or coaches, but you have to ask! Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability is appropriate for the journey you choose to do.  If your paddle is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise.
