Maidstone to Rochester

On the water at the club by 09:20 ready to be on the tidal stretch at Allington Lock by 10:00 which is about 50 minutes before high tide.

We'll go mostly with the tide which is in the neap range for most of the trip down to Rochester where we hope to exit at Rochester Cruising Club right by the castle (TBC) The whole trip will be about 12 miles.

We hope to be at Rochester aound 13:30 with a little rest on the way if the tide allows. 

This is for confident paddlers at Explore level/2Star or above. Spray decks will be required.

Be prepared with a little sustenance, drinks and appropriate clothing and safety equipment as appropriate.

This will go ahead weather permitting.

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
