The famous Exe & Barle Camping Trip

   

The annual trip to the River Exe and Barle is back on the calendar!!!

 

A weekend of grade 1 & 2 paddling in the beautiful Exmoor National Park, probably the first taste of whitewater for many club members. A regular on the club calendar for 30 years, camping at the Exe Valley Campsite with our usual evening meal at "The Badgers Holt" Pub.

2 days paddling on the River Exe or Barle depending on water levels and paddling ability. Suitable for those who have paddled grade 2 before or have done an Intro to Whitewater.

Camping pitch fees are £6 a night per person. Whilst most will arrive on the Friday usually some arrive on the Thursday to paddle on the Friday as well.

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
