Bradwell on Sea (Estuary Trip) Peer Paddle

Download as iCal file

Saturday 27 August 2022, 10:00

Peer Paddle from Bradwell Waterside (Essex Outdoors) to explore the estuary coastline.

Meet at Essex Outdoors in Bradwell at 10am where they will allow us to use their car park and slipway. All enquiries go through Alan Nevard.

High tide (Spring) is approx 13:30hrs so according to the admiralty chart, we can put in at any time on the ramp. We'll aim for 10:30 on the water going with tide both ways.

This is for competent paddlers who can handle their craft in a sea, flowing water environment.

Bring lunch and ample drinks along with the usual safety and other spare kit.

We will aim to keep to 4 vehicles so if we can have 3 people per car minimum, that will allow 12 of us to paddle. I'll organise a Whatsapp group once we have 11 people + myself on the trip.

Crossover boats, tourers and sea boats should all be sufficient for the trip. This will go ahead only if conditions allow.

The coastline is pretty and full of interseting artifacts and wildlife so it promises to be an interesting and fun trip. See you there.

Some paddlers have opted to stay the night before in the Travelodge at Maldon about 13 miles away to avoid an early start.  Link Travelodge | Maldon hotel - Maldon hotels

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
