Tonbridge to Yalding

Download as iCal file

Sunday 13 July 2014, 09:30 - 13:00

All those new members who have finished the intro course and wondering what to do next why not join us on a paddle down from Tonbridge to Yalding. The distance is about 8 miles and includes 5 canoe shoots (these can be portaged if you want to). If you would like to go you will need a crash hat to shoot the passes but there are plenty of club ones for you to use, also ok to use a club kayak paddle etc. We will meet at normal club time (9:00-9:30) load boats onto cars, drive to Yalding to drop of a couple of cars and then to Tonbridge. The journey should take about 3 hours so arrive Yalding about 1pm and for those that want to a pub lunch in the Anchor. If you would like to go please let me know so that we can sort boats and transport.

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
