Lake District Whitewater Trip

Download as iCal file

From Friday 19 February 2016
To Sunday 21 February 2016

I have started to plan a Lakes trip for this weekend.  The plan is to run rivers like the Kent, the Lune, the Leven and anything else we can squeeze in.

Although the guides describe two of the rivers as grade 4, it is possible to portage the harder features. If you are comfortable paddling the Dart Loop, you would be able to paddle these rivers, probably with some portaging. Portaging is not a problem, last time nearly the whole group portaged Backbarrow Falls and the weir beyond it.
Unfortunately, the Kendal bunkhouse where we stayed last time is fully booked for this weekend. Please let me know if you would like to come on this trip. I will try and book accommodation in the next week or so, so need numbers as soon as possible, as bunkhouse are obviously already filling up.
You can sign up by emailing me: [email protected]
As usual, any questions, just ask.

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
