Herne Bay to Reculver Peer Paddle (Sea)

Paddle in sea kayaks from the beach at Hampton Pier. Car parking, toilets and pub available. CT6 8DL meeting area on beach.

We will start at Herne Bay, paddle 5 miles to Reculver Towers then return. We may have an opportunity to get to the far end of the demolished pier.

High tide is at 18:00hrs BST so meet at 15:30hrs to allow kit faffing time. Be punctual as tide will wait for no one.

The trip will go ahead if conditions permit (no more than force 4 with 4 foot waves)

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
