Usk & Wye Trip - with Meridian

Download as iCal file

From Friday 22 January 2016
To Sunday 24 January 2016

Meridian Canoe Club have invited us to join them on their whitewater trip to South Wales.  This will be centred around the Usk & Wye and is aimed at less-advanced paddlers looking for grade 2/3 rivers (although self-contained groups wanting to share the accomodation and paddle harder stuff would also be welcome).  As a guide, you should be able to break in & out of moving water comfortably on grade 2, and be able to make some attempt at a roll - even if it's not often successful!  (There probably won't be able to support for complete whitewater beginners on this trip).

We've paddled with Meridian before and they're nice people, so don't be shy if you're thinking of joining in on this trip!

Cost will be about £40, including breakfasts and dinner on Saturday.  Please contact Andy Garlick of Meridian if you'd like to join them.

Location Brecon Bunkhouse, Cwmfforest Farm, Brecon LD3 0EU
Contact Andy Garlick, [email protected]

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
