This trip will go ahead camping at Rushbank Farm:  http://www.rushbanksfarm.co.uk/home/  with paddles on Saturday from Sudbury to the campsite (about 10 miles) and campsite to Stratford St Mary on Sunday (another 10 miles). The Stour is very variable with some flow and a few weirs and rapids that can be portaged but is very good for your first steps into white water. Please let me know if you would like to go if you have not yet done so.
