River Mole - Update

Download as iCal file

Sunday 02 April 2017, 08:45 - 15:00

River is low but we have paddled it lower and more rain forecast fot today so trip is on, see you tomorrow at start 10:00

The River Mole from Dorking to Fetcham is about 10 miles through the Mole Valley passing Box Hill. It generally is slow flowing with a few small features and one sloping weir at the start. Ideal for those who have not paddle any mooving water but would like to try. You will need to bring suitable gear for a 4 hr paddle, including crash hat, and lunch snack.

Meet at the club at 8:45 for 9:00 start or 10:00 at the start near Dorking: take the A25 from Reigate to Dorking and turn off right onto the Old Reigate Rd just past the turning for Brockam, left at the end onto Boxhill Rd. and park by river TQ: 18352 5029    Lat/long   51.239, -0.306

I will inspect the river on Sat 1st and post on this website if conditions are not suitable for the trip so watch the news page.

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
