Washburn Trip

Download as iCal file

From Friday 20 October 2017
To Sunday 22 October 2017

Sorry for the late notice, but I have just noticed that the Washburn is running on Sunday 22nd October. This is a great little, grade 2/3, dam-release river in North Yorkshire. This could be combined with a trip on the Saturday on the Tees (section dependent on the group, but could be the section from High Force to Low Force - grade 4 or from Barnard Castle to Winston Bridge - grade 3) or perhaps a run on the Wharfe (grade 2/3/4). Incidentally, it's only about an hour and a half to the River Kent from this area.
If it doesn't rain at all, there is a whitewater course at the Tees Barrage. It runs from 10am to 5pm and I think it is only £8.75 for the day. It has a travelator and you could use a playboat all weekend then.
Please let me know, by email, if you are interested. I need to know as soon as possible so that I can book a bunk house.

Disclaimer: all our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise are peer paddles.  If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something!  Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.  If your trip is being led by someone - a more experienced paddler, river leader or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
