THE MEDWAY ESTUARY BARBEQUE

Friday 6th July 2018

Please Note: We will need a sharp 6:45pm get-away from Gillingham Strand.

           Also – The car Park is now Pay and Display. Needs checking out.

Arrangements:-

Meet at the Strand Car Park, Gillingham from 6.00pm. (18:00) onwards.

At 6:45pm sharp …Paddle across to one of the Estuary Islands on a long summer evening and cook your Bangers and Burgers on an open driftwood fire. Bivouac overnight under the stars and return the next day.

All paddlers with some experience are welcome, just bring your own food and drink, something to paddle over in and some warm clothing (just in case!).

Note: Be prepared for Muddy portages at get out (Fri) and put-in (Sat) although this will be minimised by arriving and leaving near high tides.

Proposed departure from Strand 6.45pm (18:45) Friday

…. and return 08:00 Sat morning.

Please remember that EVERYTHING you take (camping things, cooking things, clothing etc) MUST FIT INSIDE YOUR CANOE/KAYAK!
