BCU Lifeguards Automated External Defibrillation including BLS

The BCU Lifeguards Automated External Defibrillation including Basic Life Support Award is taught over a minimum of three-hours. On completion of training in CPR and the use of an AED the candidates should be able to demonstrate the sequence of actions and skills required to use an AED during the simulated resuscitation of an adult victim who has suffered a cardiac arrest. This should be assessed during or at the end of the training, using a simulated incident and a resuscitation training manikin.

Course fee £20

Prerequisites

 No previous first aid knowledge is needed to attend this course.

Be a minimum of 14 years of age.

iii. Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.

a. Definition and Causes of unconsciousness.

a. Resuscitation Flow Chart

b. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

Resuscitation with an AED
