 We are Maidstone Canoe Club

 We sea kayak.

 We race.

 We are Maidstone Canoe Club.

 We mess about in boats.

 We run rivers.

Clean boats at the pool!

Please ensure that boats, including Club boats, are properly cleaned before the pool sessions.  There's been considerable dirt in the pools after the recent sessions, and if we do not improve we will lose pool access.  Boats will be inspected prior to allowing pool entry!

New videos & photos

There have been plenty of new videos and photos uploaded recently - a really nice one of the racing team, a Medway solo canoe adventure, Alpine whitewater from an ex-member, as well as photos & videos from recent Club trips.  Check them out!

River Mole Trip

Just got back from a recce of the river and it is high but the bits I could view are ok although the first weir has a tree right across and a big tow back. However, it is raining here and we are due for more overnight and there are long bits of the river with no road access. The sensible thing would be to call it off but I am prepared to got to the start tomorrow to see what it is like then. I have started a forum topic under trips so could have a look please.   Definitely not a trip for beginners

posted at 19:55   I have decided to go ahead with the trip tomorrow and make a final decision at the start.

This Tuesday - new coaching scheme

Just a quick reminder about the CDG meeting this Tuesday, at which we're going to organise all the coaching dates for the remainder of 2013. Please come if you can - if you can't make the start, come late!

Sports Club Survey

The Sports & Recreation Club Alliance are doing their bi-annual Sports Club Survey, and would like your input.  The data from this is used  by the Alliance & the BCU to inform their work - for instance, they have partnered with the Forestry Commission to improve access.  Please go here to participate:

Clocks go forward!

The clocks are going forward this weekend - don't be late for the Sunday paddle!

Win a Wave Sport Ethos

ThePaddler.co.uk online magazine is offering a free Wave Sport Ethos as a prize in their competition this month.  The magazine is free, as is entry to the competion, and looks to have a lot of stuff of interest to UK paddlers.   The magazine can be read online at http://issuu.com/thepaddler/docs/, or available as an iPhone or Android app.
